    About Robin R.

Robin D. R is a professional musician, producer and music educator. He is the founder and president of Legacy Music and XPMi the Experiencing Music Institute. Visit their websites. Robin D. R has worked in many different music genres for world-class artists and corporations either as a musician, producer or composer. He has been privileged to work with artists and companies throughout his career such as David Huff, Kari Jobe, Phillips Craig and Dean, Jared Anderson, Lenny LeBlanc, Troy Davis, Fred Sanders, Keith Thibodeaux, Reebok, The American Family Association, Huff Recording Studio, The Terminal Studio, Raintree Studio, Sound Hill, Little House Productions and more. Art of Bass was Robin’s debut solo project. This album is for contemporary jazz lovers and was released in 2006 available at ITUNES and globally via CD Baby. It includes a roster of other talented musicians such as virtuoso jazz guitarist Bill Solley (Guitar Instructor for the movie “Ray” starring Jamie Foxx), rock legend and guitarist David Huff (from the famous David and the Giants), New Orleans percussionist Dennis “Shake” Shaikewitz (from NOCCA, Ellis Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis) and a host of other veteran musicians. The album covers the spectrum of easy listening jazz, R&B, funk, reworked hymns and includes bonus tracks 12-16 of some of Robin R’s other production work, from various albums/film soundtracks of the past. Track number one is a radio friendly smooth jazz/R&B feast that features jazz guitarist Bill Solley. Track 3 is a refreshing and funky spin on the Christmas Classic, “Silent Night”, “The First Noel” and “Little Drummer Boy.” Of special interest is track 10 “Louis and Thelonious” which begins with a tribute to Louis Armstrong “Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans” and then segues into a funk slap bass solo titled “Katrina” which was written by Robin R on the road while evacuating from the hurricane. Finally the bass solo closes with “Round Midnight” a tribute to Thelonious Monk. Listeners will love track number eleven, which is an intimate setting with Robin telling the stories behind all of the songs on the album and speaking of his influences and inspirations. Bass lovers and Louisiana music fans can also visit Numerical Sounds website and check out “The Delta Grooves” New Orleans Bass and Drum Loops produced by Robin D. R and featuring New Orleans NOCCA graduate, percussionist and drummer Dennis Shaikewitz.
