    About Robin O.

A highly creative, loving, and energetic teacher, I focus on YOUR goals and inspire you with a fun approach. I invite you to step outside your comfort zone and discover and trust your natural abilities. A longtime video maven with a devoted social media following, I thrive on connecting with others through the camera. I taught piano lessons in students' homes for ten years and in studios for five years. We'll jump outside the book lessons to make connections between songs you're learning and, say, famous movie songs, pop songs, or folk songs. And I ALWAYS encourage improvisation and songwriting. Please see my songwriting and writing classes if you're interested. PLEASE NOTE: Due to my limited schedule, I only take students who are willing to practice as assigned. I can help make practicing fun and productive, but you have to do the work and show up to lessons prepared. I have always had a waiting list and will take the next student should your place open up due to not practicing. A working songwriter and composer, I regularly take commissions and have begun co-writing an album with an up-and-coming pop artist. My piano songs have been praised by multi-Grammy-Award-winner Bruce Hornsby. I hold a degree in Music Therapy and am well experienced in holding space for my clients' emotions, while gently guiding them to harness feelings into positive experiences. As the former owner of a highly successful music school, I taught songwriting and improvisation to nearly all my young piano students, and they often proudly played their own compositions at recitals.
