When I was 30 years old, living in Sao Paulo, Brazil, I seized the opportunity to rediscover my artistic roots and took a class to learn painting on ceramics. A few years later we moved to Newtown CT and I got the opportunity to progress beyond merely painting on ceramic. Besides starting off from scratch with clay, instead of bisque, the scope of work expanded and today encompasses many styles and varying techniques. I first showcased my work to the public at the 2nd Newtown Arts Festival in 2013. I was encouraged by the response, and shortly after this show was invited to join Connecticut Clay Artists an organization of professional clay artists who collaborate creatively and intellectually, and exhibit their art collectively. Since January 2015 I have been teaching ceramic classes to middle and high school students at a homeschool coop and recently also started to teach at the YMCA in Danbury CT.
