Robert B., classical guitarist, has been performing and teaching classical guitar since the 1990’s. He earned his teacher’s certificate and performer’s certificate at the “Conservatorium van Maastricht” (Netherlands) and came to Boston, to study with Eliot Fisk at New England Conservatory. Robert has also participated in many masterclasses given by internationally-renowned artists such as Pepe Romero, David Russell, Abel Carlevaro and Alexander Frauchi. Robert performs regularly as a soloist or in collaboration with piano, violin, flute or voice in programs ranging from classical opera arias to contemporary compositions dedicated to his piano guitar duo. As a teacher, Robert tailors his lessons according to each student’s ability and interests, helping them to reach their potential in a fun and relaxed learning environment. Through a process of exploration and discovery of their instrument, Robert stimulates students’ natural curiosity about the guitar where all challenges are an opportunity for learning. The more comfortable they feel with their instrument, the more likely they are to enjoy the practicing that will make them proficient on the guitar, or even a master! *** Lesson Details *** Setting personal goals and determining how to get there provides a clear structure in your lessons and provide continuous guidance to your practice. As a teacher Robert helps you set and reach your goals by dividing the learning curve in small, manageable chunks. Like walking, you get there a step at the time with Robert there to help and support you all the way. *** Studio Equipment *** Since Robert will be visiting at your house, it is important to have a proper set up for your lesson. Two chairs, a foot stool, a music stand, set up in a room to work undisturbed. If you are using an electric guitar, make sure to also have an amplifier (I can bring one if needed) and a working cable! Oh, and have a notebook and something to write! *** Travel Equipment *** Footstool and music stand if needed, student needs to have instrument and two proper chairs *** Specialties *** I am prolific in any style and my specialization is classical guitar, methods are a mix from the 19th century masters (Carulli, Carcassi, Sor) and later masters (Pujol, Carlevaro) But also more contemporary insights from Shearer and specifically the Suzuki method for guitar.

Exceptionally thorough teacher Robert is exceptionally thorough and starts from the fundamentals of classical guitar playing. I was an intermediate acoustic/electric guitar player but a beginner classical guitarist, so he started with correcting my right hand technique. He is very light-hearted, funny and a cheerful teacher. Although classical guitar playing is intense, he allows me to learn at a comfortable pace and provides helpful resources (music sheets) to practice and improve. I would highly recommend Robert if you are looking for a classical guitar teacher.

GO FOR IT and make an appointment right now!!! I was one of Roberts first students in the 80´s. I stopped playing the guitar long time ago but I always think back to Roberts classes with a warm heart and a smile. These were good times! I learnt a lot and sure we had a lot of fun as well. It is great to see how Robert developed over the years. As a truly dedicated musician he is continuously refining his skills (while I thought he was exceptional already). Students from all levels and walk of life will benefit greatly from his allround knowledge and experience.

Outstanding classical guitar teacher As an adult student who is very busy but still loves to play, I appreciate that Robert's wide repertoire and experience helps to make the best use of my time by targetting appropriate instructional pieces. He is a highly skilled, enthusiastic, and patient teacher.
