    About Robert M.

I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and have worked as a mechanical design engineer for two and a half years, with over three years of manufacturing experience. This line of work constantly uses the foundation of high school math and physics, which I am passionate about teaching. I want students to be motivated by real applications of physics and math. I also have experience in substitute teaching, and I led a Bible study for high school students while I was in college. I look forward to helping students master concepts in math and physics, as well as consider how it may be used in a future career.

    Experience

    Mechanical Engineer

    Aug, 2013 - Mar, 2016

    Baldor Electric Company

While working for this electric motor company, I designed the motors to function safely and effectively per the customer's application for their motors. Some motors operated water pumps for the Bellagio in Las Vegas and some were designed to be explosion proof while operating in a grain mill. Since I was responsible for the mechanical properties of the entire motor, I had to constantly use physics and math. From the speed of the bearings that turned the shaft to the weight of a belted load on the end of the shaft, math and physics were frequently used in my engineering calculations.
