FAQ [Frequently Asked Questions] Do I need to already have a guitar to begin? While you will need a guitar to begin lessons, I often help students purchase their first guitar. Please contact me if you aren't sure where to begin and we'll discuss your price range and what style you would like, and we'll find the perfect guitar for you to get started with!!! Can I book a 30 minute session? All of my lessons are 60+ minute sessions. Each lesson will take you through a variety of activity, including discussion of progress, music theory (or basics for beginners), hands on instruction, as well as discussing future goals. I don't like a "rushed" feel about lessons, and will often offer extra time to students for free at the end of a lesson if we need to review a particular trouble spot, or the student has questions. I have no musical talent, but have always wanted to play. Can you help? ABSOLUTELY!!! People who have never been taught an instrument or have not received professional instruction from a well qualified teacher often feel as if they have an issue with "talent," when the truth is...it is almost NEVER that someone is able to do something without being taught. Some students are more inclined to certain things as opposed to others, but I have had great success in taking literally HUNDREDS of students that came to their first session concerned that they had no talent to a level where now, playing is a huge and rewarding part of their lives. Some of those students that had doubts in the beginning are even professional musicians now!!! Don't be afraid to try!!! If you have the desire and are willing to put in the time and effort, you can do ANYTHING that you want to do!!! Let me help get you there!!!
