Hello and thanks for checking out my page! I've performed all around America and now I'm in NYC! I have my bachelors, masters and professional studies degrees in Music with a concentration of voice but I have studied many instruments in my education. I have performed the following full roles: Gianni Schicchi - Gianni Schicchi Ford - Falstaff Guglielmo - Cosi Fan Tutte Figaro - Le Nozze di Figaro Ottone - L'incoronazione di poppea Le Gêolier - Poulencs Dialogues of the Carmelites Jaap - Steal a pencil for me Blondel - Richard coeur de Lion Father Francis in a world premiere opera, Confession Prospero in Lee Hoibys Tempest where the NY Times called me, "A strong and earnest Prospero." Count Robinson - Il Matrimonio Segretto Miles Gloriosus - A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum I have sung at Carnegie Hall and this year will be performing at Alice Tully Hall as well as many other venues. As a teacher, I have had many rewarding experiences. Directing opera scenes was a real pleasure of mine because I was able to create an idea, give it to a group and see them take off with it. Lessons are close to the same thing. The method I teach (Bel Canto con legato with raised soft pallet, tilted larynx and a forward tongue) is an easy concept, but it takes a lot of practice to achieve the muscle memory. Also, don't let my explanation intimidate, I have taught basically all ages and I have music and style books from pop to jazz to show-tunes and opera. Singing is fun, shouldn't learning how to sing basically just be learning to have fun? I think so! *** Lesson Details *** While taking lessons with me, you will see some instant results after discovering the correct breath, posture and vowels to use. After that part is out of the way, comes the fine tuning (or, the fun part!) where we look at different languages, styles and techniques while answering any questions or ideas through music history or music theory. After perfecting the language, style and placement of each song is the MOST fun part, the performance! I belong to many performance groups and have a lot of recording equipment so weather it is a holiday CD for a loved one or an audition CD or just for fun to see your progress or you think you're ready to get out there, the opportunity is just around the corner! *** Studio Equipment *** practice pad for drum lessons, portable keyboard, recording equipment *** Travel Equipment *** I have the computer (for recording students) and lesson books. Students need a folder and pencil. *** Specialties *** I have performed around the US as an opera singer and before that I was the drummer/percussionist for a few bands. Percussion was also my instrument through school. I use pro tools and reason pro audio and I teach Bel canto singing. Also, I have been to a few different laryngologists and learned a lot about speech therapy.
