    RJ holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music for Vocal Performance from Cornerstone University, where he spent four years on the Dean's List and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He participates regularly in opera and musical theater performances. RJ is currently studying to receive a Music Therapy certification. His teaching experience includes vocal and piano instructor positions at music education facilities in Grand Rapids, Oxford, and Troy, MI. RJ believes a healthy, relaxed technique will encourage students to find their own voice, regardless of style. Students will reach their highest potential through technique work, repertoire study, ear training, and performance etiquette. He welcomes students of all levels and styles.

    I'm a beginner who has worked with RJ for over a year and my singing has improved quickly and consistently throughout the year. He is a great teacher, expert at explaining things in different ways to find what clicks for you. I highly recommend working with him!

    I see first hand his enthusiastic, fun, professional, calm approach to teaching various school age kids from beginner to more advanced. He is incredibly encouraging and patient and really knows how to get the very best out of all his students.
