I am a professional multi-instrumentalist part of a band that has toured on both coasts and performs regularly on the east coast. I also write journals, poems, lyrics and other creative writing on a regular basis for commission. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a bachelors in Music focusing on Saxophone and Piano as my primary instruments. The years I spent studying and immersing myself in the world of music theory helped me create a very passionate connection to music. Saxophone is the love of my life and has created so much joy over the years just from practice and performance. Knowing firsthand the fun and personal connection someone can make with music, this is what I focus on in any lesson I teach. Technique and scales are merely avenues to playing music that you connect with. While I do know all the countless fundamentals that lead to a strong musician, my goal with any lesson I teach is to never lose sight of the connection to the craft. I would also go on to say that this principle doesn't merely stop at music. It extends into my creative writing and especially my cooking as well. I grew up surrounded by the sounds and smells of traditional Caribbean cuisine at home with my mom. She is my largest influence as a cook and as a creator. My mother taught me to be focused and purposeful in my habits at the stove and in life. She always said that Cooking that comes from the heart beats any recipe book and I believe her. Whether it be the simple ramen dish or five star cuisine, I always aim to teach how to cook stress-free and passionate.
