Hey there!
Violin is the first instrument I ever tried to play starting at age ten, mostly because I loved movie scores and grandiose classical sounds. Since that beginning, I have played in school orchestras every year after and a few years spent in college level symphonies. Throughout these rewarding, fourteen years of experience, I have held different positions as part of the orchestras such as rehearsal manager. I have trained countless peers throughout the years. Also, I was majoring in music for three semesters in college but then I switched to engineering.
Anywho... I know the tricks and concepts to make violin fun and easy(it gets easier eventually I swear). Any age group suits me, as I am very adaptable to different students' needs. Reading music, as well as interpreting what it wants your body/mind to perform, can be explained in countless manners.
Before we can make music we need:
1) RHYTHM!!! -keep a beat and count subdivisions
2) Notes -almost the same importance of rhythm, do re mi.....

After that there's plenty to cover, including articulation, dynamics, phrasing, etiquette, and much more!
I also play electric bass(thanks to violin which is the most difficult instrument to play, or so they say) and have performed in many local venues as well as the radio.
Whatever you want to learn, I can focus on that specific goal. Thank you.

About Riley D.

I am an established musician having played violin in Orchestras for fourteen years led by many experienced conductors as well as six years of experience playing bass guitar. I have played in Carnegie Hall, NY and the studio of the alternative radio station 91x. I have been in the strict classical realm as well as the loose rock and roll cloud.
I want to share my knowledge and experience. I just want to make learning this new language fun and will cater the experience to each individual based on where they stand musically.
