Teaching since:

Hi, I'm Rick. I look forward to helping you reach your goals. I'm going to tell you about me and how I can benefit you as your guitar teacher. You may have heard the old saying, "Those who CAN, do. Those who CAN'T, teach." I don't believe that. I believe that the very best teachers are those who have real world experience, and I do. The ways this benefits you are numerous. I have played music professionally for 40+ years at every venue imaginable, from concerts on big stages before thousands, to fairs, nightclubs, weddings, parties, etc. Over the years, I've learned what it takes to move people, to make them respond and clap. What it takes is playing what the song needs. Not playing every scale and lick you know, as fast as you can. There are many teachers who can teach you that. There are VERY FEW who can teach you how to play what your audience wants to hear. I can. Whether you are 9 and want to play for family or friends, or 39 and looking to go pro, I'll help you succeed. Thank you.

As a guitarist, I have consistently worked and earned money in one of the most competitive businesses in the world - music. That's tons of real world experience across a variety of styles.

Photos & Videos

Playing the local County Fair with my church worship team.

Timothy B. Schmidt of the Eagles. Our band played his 50th high school reunion. I got to sit in and play on "I Can't Tell You Why."

What a tasty player Rusty is. And, he's got the best guitar sideman gig in rock and roll!

Don't laugh. I was an Eagle Scout. The good news for you is, I'm trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind...

I'm a family man. Both sons play music and one composes. We have four beautiful grand kids. Needless to say, I love kids.

When you look down at a crowd like this, you realize all that hard work and countless hours of practicing was worth it!

Rick is an amazing guitarist and an even more amazing guy. I have had the pleasure to play with him and will be sending my daughter to him for lessons.

As a professional musician, I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Rick as well as being in the audience watching him perform. Rick is one of the best and most versatile guitarists that I know, and after playing professionally myself for over 35 years myself, I know a few! He knows how to play just what the song needs, combine that with his positive, friendly personality and quick wit and you can't go wrong! Learn "what" to play...not just how to play! I highly recommend Rick! (In case you couldn't tell)

I've had both formal sit down and informal "Just jamming" lessons with Rick on all 3 instruments listed; bass, acoustic and electric. Rick is easy going, but very focused on the goals. I would recommend Rick to anyone wanting to improve their playing. I know he made me a better musician and a better band member!
