My lesson was great. I’ve struggled for years to really get everything to come together, and I’m already starting to see and feel how Rick is, and will continue to, make that happen.

As a complete novice, I’m starting to get a feel on Rick’s teaching method and how to improve my guitar skills from week to week.

Rick's lessons have been really enjoyable. He starts off with fundamentals, but keeps it fun by helping you learn songs of your choice. When you get further into the lessons the songs start to make more sense and I was able to understand why they sounded how they did. My lessons with Rick have been great and I feel like I've learned a lot.

Rick is a wonderful teacher. I already have some previous music experience, so he is working with me at my level instead of starting me from the beginning. I would definitely recommend him as a teacher.

I've been taking lessons from Rick for over 1.5 years and have shown steady improvement thanks to him. He is always prepared and gears the lessons toward the style of music I enjoy playing. He is patient and keeps the lessons at a comfortable pace while also making sure to push me to progress my abilities.

I'm a mid 40's guy who's wanted to play guitar since I was a kid. After a failed attempt in my teens, I hadn't revisited it (unless air-guitar counts) until this year. Fortunately for me, through Take Lessons, I found Rick. He is so very patient, friendly and flexible. The one thing I most enjoy about our lessons is that it's like visiting with a friend for an hour each week - whether we talk about music theory, new guitars or just about our lives, he always is engaged and accessible.

I can't say enough about Rick, he is a very knowledgeable musician, he genuinely cares that you reach your goal and is a really, really pleasant person. If your dream is just to play some of your favorite songs, or to go on to be a professional musician - Rick is definitely who I would recommend.

First rate instructor - fabulous

I'm a 50 something music student who loves guitar but has no particular talent. Rick has been patient with me and his lessons have improved my playing after a short time. I'm playing songs that I would otherwise never attempt.

Excellent Bass Guitar Instructor!

Rick has been my son's bass guitar teacher for the last year. We are impressed with his genuine care and concern for our 17 year old son as a person and a bass guitar player. He always works with us and our schedule considering we have to make a 30-40 minute drive across San Antonio for his lessons. We highly recommend Rick for both his great character qualities as well as his guitar instructor expertise!

i could not have asked for a better instructor. i am a "no nothing" about music person. Rick is encouraging, kindhearted, and sincere. Even when i dont make much progress he still cheers me on. He gives me the will to learn this guitar, for it is very hard for me. if you dont know a thing about music, or you just want a great guy teaching you good music, Rick is the one for you.

Keep up the GREAT WORK.

A Fantastic Teacher and Great Person

I could not be happier with the guitar instruction I have received from Rick. He is a consumate professional, always completely prepared and extremely well organized. He is very patient and has taken the time to understand and fully comprehend my own inate learning style and has tailor-made my instruction on what he has leared. He allowed himself to be influenced by me before attempting to influence. His talent with the guitar is extraordinary. His demeanor is always pleasant and supportive. Most important, I am learning, a lot, and fast! He has managed to instruct the fundamentals of 12-bar blues (a personal favorite) to a 44-year old dog, who, thanks to Rick, is learning a new trick. I would recommend Rick to anyone. I have already re-upped for four more lessons and hope (money permitting) to stay with him for a very long time. I am extremely glad I decided to contact TakeLessons. THANK YOU ALL and THANK YOU RICK!
