An initial look at Rick's teaching philosophy:
A common question raised by my prospective vocal students is “What makes a contemporary vocal instructor different from a traditional classical/Broadway instructor”?
The contemporary approach to singing lessons differs from classical in that there are more sub-divisions of music styles such as Pop, Rock, Country, R&B and Jazz. Additionally, with contemporary vocal lessons there are differences in tone production, rhythmic phrasing and embellishments.
Teaching people to sing is truly a wonderful experience for me. It is immensely gratifying to teach, and then in time see students grow as singers and exceed their original expectations for vocal study.
With over 25 years experience as vocalist, musician, performer and educator, my vocal lessons are customized to help you meet your specific music goals.
Music styles taught include: Pop, Rock, R&B, Blues, Jazz and Country.
