I have tutored math students from 3rd Grade through Calculus for over more than 25 years. My bachelor's degree is in Mathematics Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. My background is working with students in an alternate high school diploma program as well as working with gifted students. I coached winning MATHCOUNTS teams, a competition program for gifted middle school students. I love tutoring students who are struggling in their current class, starting with what the student knows already and building on it so they are able to work problems in their present class. I also tutor SAT prep; students are asked to buy an book that has SAT questions and work through it. I give help on math vocabulary, eliminating answers, and applying what they know to the problems. If your child needs to improve their SAT math score, but doesn't have time or motivation to take a class, private tutoring is a great option, as we are working only on problems they are struggling with.
