I have been enjoying the violin for 28 years, playing in orchestras, small group sessions, public solo and collaborative performances in both classical style and Scottish fiddle. i have instructed beginner students in violin and music for over ten years, including adults and teens who have never played instruments before. I like to foster innovation and personal style in a student, not just instruct in the craft of using the instrument or in reading sheet music.

I have studied with prominent Scottish Fiddlers, attended the Ohio Scottish Arts School for several sessions, played for the Las Vegas Highland Dance Association, and in events associated with the St. Andrews Society of Southern Nevada

I've been playing violin for 30 years, Scottish Fiddle for 20 of those years. I instruct begining and intermediate level students of any age who want to learn classical or fiddle techniques, sheet music reading, or playing by ear, basic music theory and traditional tune structures, and developing ornamentation and embellishments.

Renie was my first violin teacher as a teenager, and I have to say that she is excellent with beginners and advanced students alike.  She continued to mentor me throughout my teenage and young adult years, and stayed consistent throughout.

She is flexible and very patient!  She is equally as knowledgeable in Classical violin techniques and repertoire as she is in the styles of Celtic fiddling (Scottish, Irish, Cape Breton, etc.)

If I still lived in Las Vegas, I'd continue to take from her!

I haven’t touched an instrument since school and am all thumbs but she was patient and clear and helped me build the basics and confidence. Definitely going to continue lessons  10/10
