I began playing flute at the age of nine and later, while in high school, began playing oboe as well. I attended Loyola University New Orleans and earned a degree in Music Therapy. While in attendance, I studied flute, oboe, guitar, and piano. *** Lesson Details *** I teach students on an individual basis and work with them at their own level and pace. I am not a strict teacher, but I do expect my students to practice. During lessons, we will work on all aspects of the instrument and theory, including things such as rhythm, intonation, dynamics, counting, note reading, sight reading and embouchure. For the first lesson, I strongly encourage students to bring all of the music that they own so we can try to work with what they have. This helps me gauge the student's level. If you have no prior experience or do not own any books, that is perfectly fine. *** Studio Equipment *** Piano, Music stand, guitar foot stool *** Specialties *** For flute and oboe, I focus on classical/baroque music. When teaching guitar, I have a more eclectic style and play both classical and teach anything from folk songs to pop songs.
