Each person has differently-shaped resonating chambers and vocal folds that make up their anatomy. The way the sound resonates inside is what gives each person his or her own unique voice. It takes a voice teacher with a specialized training in what to look and listen for to understand what is a healthy exercise and what is not. I will help you or your child achieve their goals– but also it takes daily practice to achieve desired results. It takes at least three months of training to experience measurable improvement. Please be patient and keep it up! I help people of all ability levels: -Improve pitch accuracy and the tone of the voice -Increase the singing range (low to high) -Use breath support to increase the volume of the voice -Release muscle tension during speaking or singing -Even out the "glitches" when singing through the range -Improve over all performance and audition presentation -Learn to read music -Learn to sing in harmony -Become more confident onstage and everywhere else -Access a brighter and bolder speaking voice (ideal for teachers, pastors, and speakers) Benefits of studying with Rebekah at Ninth Tone Voice Studios: The lessons will take place in the convenience of your home– so no travel necessary! Rates are competitive. I put my students' success as my first priority. The first lesson will be utilized as an introduction and consultation between the student and myself. With the knowledge attained from the first lesson, I can tailor a curriculum to fit the needs of the student. I give my students the opportunity to perform in city, regional, and state competitions, recitals, and events through my associations with NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) and MTAC (Music Teachers Association of California). These organizations also provide curriculum for the students they can strive to be successful in, and will be an essential stepping–stone to further studies in music, or for their resume in general. Students are able to strive for awards of merit that are recognized on a national level. My students: My students have enjoyed solos in choir, lead roles in school musicals and summer programs, solo performance showcases and successfully singing for weddings and other church programs. I have even coached public speakers to achieve a healthier and more vibrant speaking tone. I have proudly helped people become much more accurate with singing on pitch through ear-training methods. Join My Studio Again, I am new to the Northern San Diego / Carlsbad area and I am highly motivated to take on new students. I will do my best to challenge, encourage, and push you to achieve a higher level of singing. Please call or email me to set up a time for a lesson.

Rebekah is an outstanding instructor who pushed me out of my perceived limitations with singing. It had been years since my last formal lesson and after talking about goals and pieces we wanted to work on she was able to help cultivate a stronger skill all the while being easy to learn from. I highly suggest anyone looking to learn to sing to give Rebekah a shot! She makes the environment fun, positive and you will sing at levels better than you perceived possible if you are willing to work for it!

Rebekah was an outstanding instructor for our daughter. Our daughter was a bit difficult in the beginning putting 100% effort for the lesson. Rebekah was very keen and navigated her way through the obstacles and motivated her to be prepared and give full effort. Rebekah sets the bar high and gets her students to perform.

Rebekah was a wonderful teacher to me. I have grown children and always had singing lessons on my "bucket list". Although I have no desire to sing professionally, I always wanted to have a better singing voice so I could sing with confidence (and not embarrassment!) while worshiping at church. Rebekah understood my goals and tailored our lessons, her assignments to me and even our song choices to fit my aspirations perfectly. Her patience in moving at the pace I needed showed her maturity despite her younger age and she always provided me with honest and uplifting feedback that raised my belief that I could sing with confidence. Her move Maine is California's loss and the east coast's gain of an effective, kind and lovely instructor and person

    Voice Teacher (independent contractor)

    Oct, 2012 - May, 2014

    Cecilia whitby Studio

Here I brought the studio from four students to 20 students in a matter of 6 months. This made the studio more money, but more importantly brought music to the students' lives. I was able to reach out to students aged 7 - 57. Many enjoyed lead roles in school musicals and other special solo engagements.

    Choir Director

    Jan, 2011 - Jul, 2013

Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church (Tucson, AZ)

Here I taught all age groups and formed three different choirs. I recruited diligently and communicated weekly with participants to keep the volunteers engaged on a weekly basis. The children's choir, Teen choir, and adult choir regularly performed and sang in special masses around the year. We held weekly rehearsals to learn music, singing harmonies, and ear-training.

    Choir director

    Sep, 2010 - Apr, 2013

St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic church (Tucson, AZ)

Here I also took the choir from no volunteer singers to around 20 for Christmas. I made the experience for the teen choir one in which the tens felt empowered and responsible for a ministry they served in each Sunday. They had a profound effect on the congregation who enjoyed the music they produced. Having young people involved encouraged the parishioners, young and old. Here, I also formed a summer music program for teens in which they could learn voice, piano, guitar or bass lessons, and all learned music theory and ear training. This was my first experience with teaching private voice lessons and I learned how rewarding it was. Then I found the Whitby studio.
