Reading sheet music and playing the piano made easy. Learn from a well rounded pianist!

Senior Music Education Major with 2+ years of teaching experience and a member of the Cincinnati Metropolitan Orchestra. A violinist and vocalist with 11+ years of experience, and 2+ years of viola and piano experience. I have been playing piano in a worship setting for the past 3 years and in a classical setting for the past 2 years. My students will therefore gain a knowledge of how to read sheet music and chord charts in order to become a well-rounded pianist. I believe that music is an experience that is felt and understood differently among each person and because of this, all lessons are customized according to the interests, needs, and goals of each student. My students will develop a solid foundation of music theory, aural skills, and sight-reading that will prove to be extremely beneficial in their musical studies. My greatest desire is to help all of my students to achieve their greatest musical potential and to grow in their appreciation of the beauty of music.

I am a Senior at Mount Saint Joseph University pursuing a degree in Music Education. My primary instruments are violin and voice, with my secondary instruments being viola and piano. I have been playing violin and singing for 11+ years and playing viola and piano for 2+ years. I am a classically trained vocalist and instrumentalist with a sound knowledge of music theory and history and extensive experience in various ensembles, from string and full orchestra to choir. I have performed in multiple styles including Jazz, Classical, Pop, Rock, and many more. My musical experience also includes Worship Music, both traditional and contemporary. I have been a worship leader and worship band member for the past 6 years and from these experiences, I am able to teach my students how to read music and chord charts, how to play in multiple styles of music, and how to develop and improve upon their musical technique and improvisational skills. I am currently the Conductor of a church handbell choir as well as the Vice-President of an a cappella ensemble. I am also a member of a Contemporary Christian band based right here in Cincinnati that is working to release its second album in 2021. I am also a self-taught makeup artist with 6+ years of experience. My experience covers everything from everyday "natural" and glam makeup, to SFX (or special effects) and theatre makeup. I have been practicing makeup on my own face since sophomore year of high school. I have also done other peoples' makeup for Halloween events, musicals, and plays. I am constantly doing research on makeup products to see how they perform as well as testing their performance on my own face. I can help to provide you with the best makeup tips and recommendations for your face and skin type. We can find what works best for you and what products are the most practical for your specific makeup needs. I teach students of all ages, backgrounds, experience levels, and interests. I have extensive experience with students who have disabilities, specifically those with autism. All students are welcome in my home studio. I believe that music has the power to impact all people and everyone should be given the opportunity to explore the beauty, versatility, and possibility that music has to offer. I look forward to helping you unlock your greatest musical potential!

Rebeka gave my teen daughter an online makeup lesson, and my daughter couldn't have been more at ease and it was wonderful. My daughter is shy but Rebeka was able to get her to talk, which is an achievement, and listened to what she wanted. I highly recommend her. I have zero musical talent but I imagine she is just as excellent in music as she is in makeup.

    Babysitter

    Aug, 2016 - Present

    The Shaw Family

While I have babysat for many years, I have most constantly babysit for the Shaw Family. They have three young children, a 4-year old, a 2-year old, and a newborn baby. My duties generally involve caring for the children’s basic needs (food, drink, changing diapers, etc.), putting the children to bed, and keeping watch over the house until the Shaws arrive home. I am typically working in 3-5 hour shifts when babysitting for them, but I have babysat for shorter and longer periods of time as well.

    College Intern

    May, 2018 - Aug, 2021

    Westwood United Methodist Church

For the past three summers, I have served as a college intern in Westwood United Methodist Church's VBS, Summer Day Camp, and Music Camp. I serve as a group leader for the 5th and 6th graders, leading lessons and activities throughout the week and providing direction for the high school interns that work under me. This has provided me with multiple experiences with lesson planning, classroom management, differentiated instruction, and the creation of a safe and enjoyable learning environment. This past summer, during the COVID season, I worked to create a completely original online camp along with two other coworkers. All content was original and self-constructed. The entirety of the camp was online and utilized a variety of sources, such as Zoom, YouTube, Flipgrid, and Seesaw, to communicate and interact with our campers.

    Orchestra Assistant and Private Teacher

    Oct, 2017 - Dec, 2019

    MYCincinnati

I volunteer my time at MYCincinnati, an free after-school program that allows children to explore the world of music and to learn to play any of the instruments in an orchestra. As a music education major, this is a great opportunity for me to gain teaching experience and to apply what I have learned throughout my time in school in order to help in the education of younger students. Whenever I am there, I am either assisting in the teaching of the orchestra or I am taking individual students aside for private lessons. The staff of MYCincinnati are amazingly wonderful and understanding people who work around my school schedule so that I have able to help out whenever I am available.

    Volunteer, Table Leader, Videographer, Photographer

    Sep, 2013 - Mar, 2019

    The Deaf Institute

I have currently served at the Deaf Institute for over 6 years now. I have performed many tasks while volunteering there such as the cleaning of their facilities, the organization of their facilities, and most importantly, participation in many of their events. The most notable event that I have participated in while volunteering at the Deaf Institute is the Deaf Fair. Every year, I have either run a station at the Deaf Fair (either some sort of crafts station or a music station) or been in charge of the videography and photography of the event.

    Volunteer

    Jun, 2013 - Aug, 2015

    Stepping Stones

I was a volunteer at Stepping Stones every summer for about 3 years. Here, I worked almost every day with people of all ages and of all disabilities. I worked mainly with young children and teenagers who suffered from autism, Down syndrome, and multiple disabilities. I have also had experience working with adults with disabilities both at the camp and in my own home, as my own brother is an adult who has autism. I performed many tasks while I volunteered there, such as helping the kids with their crafts, helping the kids feed themselves, and watching the children in order to keep them entertained and safe.

    Latin Tutor

    Aug, 2012 - Aug, 2015

    Walnut Hills High School

I served as a Latin tutor at Walnut Hills High School year for about 3 years. I taught students of differing levels of Latin (Latin I, II, and III). The topics I covered in my teachings included grammar, the memorization of Latin words, and the translation of Latin texts. I myself have studied Latin for 4 years. I have taken the AP Latin course and received a 5 (the highest grade possible) on the AP Exam.
