My goal is to help you find your authentic voice, refine your performances, and become the best singing performer that you can possibly be! With extensive experience across multiple genres, I believe I am uniquely situated to help you achieve your goals -- whether it be nailing your next audition or simply feeling more comfortable during the hymns at church. My home growing up was full of music. My father first saw my mother when she was leading songs at a Shabbat service in Berkeley, CA. He always says he fell in love with her voice before anything else. The sounds of singing and guitar playing permeated my childhood. I went on to study music at Stanford University and receive my Master's degree in opera from the University of Georgia. During my education, I performed extensively in opera, musical theater, and choral ensembles including Portland Opera, Lyric Theater of San Jose, the Astoria Music Festival, the Stanford Savoyards, and Portland Concert Opera. Since graduating, I have collaborated with internationally renowned pedagogues and singers including Nova Thomas, Frederick Burchinal, and Kathryn Wright. I have also sung under the batons of Bradley Moore, Lance Inouye, and George Manahan. These experiences have taught me the importance of contextualizing creative expression within professionalism, a characteristic I always seek to impart to my students. As a pedagogue, I always want my students to find ease, joy, and authenticity of character with every piece of music they sing. We achieve this goal through both hard work and creative exploration. I spend equal attention focusing on technique and storytelling, as one is meaningless without the other. I can't wait to help you find your authentic voice!
