Bring stage characters to life — build confidence by learning to act.

I pioneered a private Arts Academy drama school for 4 years, and am now teaching acting and directing at a middle and high school. My goal is to help students become well-rounded in all the areas that are needed to truly become a working actor. These areas include: auditioning, theater, film, and improvisation. Being a repertory performer for Silver Star Playhouse (musical theater parodies), and having lots of experience and training in improv and interactive dinner theaters really trains you in comedy. My husband also owns Sound waves Productions (technological advanced studio in Gilbert)- so completing remote voiceover work for a reel is not out of the question. I also encourage students to pair in duos for effective scene work and more in-depth technique training (this will also split your lesson cost in half).

Greetings! I am super excited to be building a private and small group lesson platform at our home studio and to meet your personal acting and performing needs! Experience: Besides teaching private and semi-private lessons for the past 3 years, I taught Meisner, Monologue, and scene study at JCFilms in 2021,and 2 years of full-time drama and visual art at Lumos Arts Academy- a private arts school I played a role in pioneering in 2017- 2019. I also founded and directed a Theater and Film Program at Experience Arts School where students ages 5- adult could take classes (group or private) or join an acting company for regular performance gigs all across the Valley. I directed multiple musicals during this time. My company competed with the AZ Thespians and took home many superior scores from 2013- 2017. Personally, I have been acting for 25 years in the Mid and Southwest, studied theater at UWOshkosh-where I was a judge for speech and debate high school competitions for years-, film at Scottsdale CC, improv with iO in Chicago, and the Meisner Technique with the renowned Kevin Phipps. I was part of a musical repertory company based in Utah for 8 months, traveled around the Phoenix valley performing in 8 different dinner theaters for 8 years, and have produced and directed multiple professional music videos and actor reels for Soundwaves Productions in Gilbert. I believe that each actor learns differently, and the best way is to become well-rounded in your training to discover what works best for you. I have become very attuned to identifying strengths and weaknesses in actors, and will work with you on the best technique to suit your needs and style. Classes I have created curriculum for/taught include: Monologues Auditioning for theater and film The Meisner Technique Script Analysis Beginning- Advanced Improv Beginning- Advanced Scene Acting Uta Hagen's Repertoire Acting for Film Voice and Diction Music Video Creation Musical Theater Acting/Dance Public Speaking

I just had my first lesson with Rebecca and I’ve already learned a lot in 30 min. She is very friendly and professional, managing the lesson time very efficiently. I am looking forward to learning more from her.

Rebecca was incredibly helpful to me in building an understanding of how to genuinely express emotions through the use of the Meisner Technique. She was incredibly flexible with my goals and did an excellent job working with me to come up with the best solution for my needs. I had a great time and I am very thankful to her for the help she has provided me.

Rebecca is so great- I was worried about being able to learn improv online, but Rebecca seems to know it so well and can adjust for anyone it seems. I am grateful for all the social skill development it has given me! I never knew I could be funny! :O

    Visual Art and Drama Intructor

    Jul, 2017 - Jul, 2019

    Lumos Arts Academy

I pioneered the visual art and drama program for this full-time K-12 private school under the direction of Principal Chuck Green and Fine Arts Director Dr. Russell Seaton. Because of our passion to see students thrive at their peak potential and needing knowledgeable decision-making from the ownership to do so, all three of us have left this school to lead and teach on our own terms. However, at this school I created dynamic programs that offered original classes for credit such as Music Video Recording, filming, and production; Theatrical Dance Expression; Visual Art Set and Prop creation for our musicals; as well as improv and traditional acting for stage and film. I also directed 2 musicals with interesting twists, and mentored students 7-12th grade with important life skills based on their needs.
