Theater Acting with Rebecca K.

I am a professional actor in the city of Chicago. I have lived here my whole life and have a BFA in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul. I love to perform in all types of theater, from plays to Musical Theatre to Shakespeare. Theater excites me and I love to teach because it is such a rewarding feeling to collaborate with a student and help them discover what works for them. I am also a musician. I know a few instruments, but my main focus is ukulele. I can teach beginners and intermediate players. I am very passionate about playing the ukulele and look forward to working students! Students can expect to gain a vast knowledge of playing the ukulele and will be playing full songs in no time. I have been teaching for the past 6 years, working with kids between the ages of 3.5-14, as well adults of all ages. I have taught at multiple children's theater companies as well as taken private students. My specialty is helping students find material for auditions and other performance opportunities. I have a vast knowledge of the theater cannon and love to search for monologues, scenes and songs that fit a student. I feel it is important to love the work you do, and I love to assist students in making those discoveries; making them feel confident and ready for auditions! Students can expect to grow immensely and feel continuously comfortable with material that makes them passionate and ready to take on the world! When I am not acting or teaching, I can be found cooking, reading, doing yoga, and traveling. I think a vital part of acting is also finding ways to relax and enjoy everything around you!
