My name is Raven Handrich. I'm 23 years old and I've been training in the martial arts since I could walk, basically. I am the son of two, life-long martial artist and a brother to six others. My parents are both master level black belts in several disciplines and are also the owners of Valhalla MMA. Our family has owned a number of gyms over the years. I hold black belt ranks of various degrees in the following disciplines: *Tae Kwon-Do * Judo *Kickboxing *Jiu-jitsu (Bjj) *Pankration (MMA) I've been heavily involved in, and have competed in every facet of full-contact, martial arts competition from an early age. Traditional, contemporary, sport and combative. I've done it all, and I can help you do it too! In addition to my dojo/gym experience, I've also worked along side my father as a bouncer. Putting these skills to work in actual self-defense situations gives me a bit of an edge and understanding of the difference between the theoretical knowledge of a technique and the practical knowledge of a technique. Outside of the serious nature of real self-defense situations there is another side of training that I also enjoy. I love the art and the beauty of the techniques, the drills, katas and the relationships you build learning and teaching each other. I'm from a very large family (9), and I enjoy teaching and sharing my passion and knowledge with everyone. One of the greatest aspects of what I do, is bringing value to my students by helping them do things they never thought they could. Beyond everything else... These arts have the power to transform lives in many positive ways. I've seen this happen so many times over the years. It's the greatest gift you can give.
