About Randy D.

I have been playing/writing music since 2002. I am a very passionate, positive, and fun person; and my love for music shows in my lessons. Music is more than a hobby to me; it is truly my life, and I love sharing it with others.
The very moment I learned to read music, I started creating music of my own. I enjoyed writing music so much that I decided (while in middle school!) that music was going to be my future, my career, my life! I learned to play guitar and piano and, a few years later, started performing and singing my songs for anyone and everyone! During this time I also started teaching private lessons in music stores, for music companies, and at my home studio. This is where I developed my love for sharing the joy of music with others!
As time went by, I obtained a bachelors degree in Music Education and a masters degree in Music Composition; I taught music as an adjunct professor at Reinhardt University and became the music teacher at Tate Elementary School.
These days, I am a professional musician, making a living with live performances and private lessons. I have taught hundreds of private students, and I use the experience that I have gathered over the years to better teach my lessons.
*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons with me will be fun and relaxed, yet engaging! I know that sometimes, the fundamentals of music are not always the most exciting things to learn about. So, I strive to make lessons entertaining and musical from the very beginning! I will have you playing songs ASAP. I know exactly what steps to take to have you playing like a pro in the fastest time possible. I want to set you up for success, and I will give you the supplies to succeed (and have fun while doing it!). My goal is to inspire my students so that they will want to practice as much as possible; simply because daily practice at home is the best way to unlock your true potential.
My lessons are a custom fit for each individual. There is no ONE way that everyone learns, and that is why I take the time to create lesson plans that are tailored to each student. Obviously, there are basics that every students needs to know, but beyond that, your personal musical goals will be at the forefront of your lessons with me! I have some students who love music theory, ones who enjoy improvisation (creating music on the fly), and others who simply love to sing songs while strumming guitar or playing the piano. Whatever your passion, I will help you reach your goals and hopefully inspire you to create additional musical goals!

My son has been taking guitar lessons for 2 years and loves it... after the first lesson with Randy, he was literally jumping for joy. He was in love and excited about Randy's style of teaching and the format. He didn't realize that he had been unhappy until he realized how GREAT it could be!!! We are hooked on Randy!!!! Thank you!
