As a native speaker of Arabic, a non-native speaker of English, a former learner of English, a translator and an interpreter, a current ESL instructor, and a certified bilingual (BEA-Arabic, New York State Teacher Certification) instructor; I am very determined to make a change in people’s lives through education. 

I have dedicated my career to international education, and I decided to keep working in the international education field. And because I was a former ESL student, I am very passionate about providing my students with the best educational experience to help them overcome the difficulties that they may encounter throughout their learning journey.  During a respectable experience in working for profit and non- profit organizations as a translator and an interpreter, I have learned how education also have a deep commitment to educational research and intercultural communication research.
Finally, you need a role model to your students and I think that I can be that role model. Students can see how a long native speaker if fluent in English now. I can feel the challenges that students may face and help them to fix them.

Professional Summary: I am an English-Arabic bilingual instructor (BEA-Arabic, New York State Teacher Assessment) with some years of experience working in educational institutions including a State University, a non-profit organization. In addition to 6 years of experience in translating and interpreting for the Presidency Council of Iraq and for a non-profit organization. Expertise in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), instruction, curriculum development, advisement, and providing professional development. Expertise in translating and interpreting (Arabic – English, English- Arabic). I have excellent research skills that are gained through interdisciplinary work with my professors and classmates during my undergraduate and graduate studies. I lived in Iraq for 29 years, and I speak Arabic as a mother tongue. I also have been in the United States for more than three years, and I am a bilingual in English.
