I can teach the basics in music theory, such as basic scales like the pentatonic and major scales, open chords, how to read music, and strumming patterns. I am also able to teach other techniques such as fingerpicking, arpeggios, how to build scales and chords, how to improvise, play by ear, the basics in transcribing, how to play barre chords, and several other things. In regards to my education in playing guitar, I've taken 6 courses at Dominican University. In regards to my overall experience as a guitarist, I've been playing for 5 years. I've performed at recitals at my University as a group, along with independently performing some of my own compositions. In regards to my passion in playing guitar, I love it. It's my way of expressing myself. An extension of who I am. A way of having a good time. It's my oasis. My passion. In regards to teaching experience, I have not taught others how to play guitar, but I have worked as a tutor. So I know that patience is very important when teaching someone anything. Along with doing whatever it takes to ensure a student is making progress and benefiting from my lessons as much as possible. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
