Rafael Enrique Perez Gonzalez, best-known as Rafaa Cuba. Born in 1992, son of a Mexican mother and Cuban father. Raised in a family with a great cultural background encouraged by the knowledge of his anthropologist mother and the extend musical background of his father. Since he was very little he was influenced by the music, since his father was one of the most important trombonist of modern cuban music, with several recordings in cuban Radio and Television, and musician of the most famous cabaret in Latin america Tropicana. His roots arises from the famous neighbor of Guanabacoa, well-know for his drums and afrocuban rhythms. From an early age he had manifested deep love and passion about the music. People narrate that when he was only three years old he asked for joint his father band Son, Salsa y Sabor to play the drums. From that momento he knew his live was the music, specially percussion. His father showed the percussion bases, introduce him first to the Bongoes, next the Congas, and finally Timbales. When he finished the high school he moved to Mexico city to continue learning and studying music, in the prestige Academy of Music Fermatta, obtaining a degree in Percussive arts and Songwriter and Arrange of Contemporary Music. He also studied with famous percussionists as Robert Vilera, Yeismel Grandal, Hilario Bell, and Patricio El Chino Diaz, big exponents of the Latinamerican Music. He had shared stage with different musician as Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Roberto Torres, RV Band, Eddy K, Vanessa Formell, Noelia, Tito Puente Jr, Margarita la Diosa de la cumbia, Yuri, Yandel, Farruko, Lucy Grau, Joey Montana, Issac Delgado, Eddy Cruz, David Zepeda, Armando Manzanero, Pedro Fdez, Olga Tañon, Marlow Rosado y La Riqueña, Ha-Ash, Pepe Aguilar, Horoscopos de Durango, Melody, Orq Otra Idea, Armando Davalillo, Chiquis Rivera, Manolin El Medico De La Salsa, Lemay, Luis Coronel, Sancocho, Ruben Sierra, Juan Esteban, Jory Boy, Carlos Manuel, Michael Merlino, among others. Since 2013 he manage a Percussion blog, with more than 18000 followers, where he shares his, Daily Music Job, knowledge and passion about percussion. This blog has allowed him to give lessons to people around the world. He is an artist of the prestigious companies Tycoon Percussion, Cympad International, Vater Percussion, Gator Cases, and Big Fat Snare Drum.
