Opera Voice

Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Operatic Singing includes Classical Voice Training, Acting, and Language Coaching.

Alignment is the basis a great technique. Each person is different, and knowing how to help them release unwanted tension is critical.

The vocal folds are the core of the sound, and must be given the utmost care and consideration. Proper hydration is essential. They are also muscles, that need strengthening exercises and time for them to change. This will improve your vocal endurance and range. As a highly trained voice teacher, I can hear if the vocal folds are behaving in a healthy and efficient manner. It is essential that your teacher understand how to care for these delicate components of the human voice.

Vocal resonance is how opera singers are heard without amplification. It can be enhanced through awareness and coordination of the various portions of the vocal tract. There are two main components that help magnify the sound. The pharynx, also known as the throat, and the soft palate. Having an open throat and lift soft palate not only help your boost the harmonic spectrum of you voice, but also prevents you from pushing or over-singing.

The articulators, the lips and tongue, must be trained independently through exercises that coordinate awareness and motor skill.

The most important part of the voice is emotion. Anyone can sing words, but if you don't know what they mean or how to express them they become nothing but white noise.

Selecting the perfect songs for your age, voice type, skill level, and interest is really important. It is important to find music that you love to sing.

Rachelle really is the best! She is extremely patient and knowledgeable about music and the voice. She works hard to make me feel comfortable while still challenging me in new ways. I so look forward to our lessons every week! If you're looking for an amazing classical voice teacher, Rachelle's my recommendation! :-)

I had my first lesson with rachelle and being really nervous in the begining she totally hit a home run. 1 lesson and never had any music training in my life she explained everything and as the lesson went on I gained more and more confidence she is so knowlegable and really knows how to convey it in simple terms that I could understand. I am so confident in her ability that I will reach my goal. Its real exsiting. Oh yea by the way I just turned 65. Great person and excellent teacher.

I play an instrument and wanted to improve my singing abilities while playing an instrument. It was amazing how much easier this became to sing as she taught me proper vocal technic. Not only does my voice sound better. But I also feel less vocal chord fatigue and able to sing more at one time

In addition to all that she helped me to improve my ability to sing and play my instrument at the same time

I highly recommend Rachelle no mater what your singing level.
