I am a professional violinist and violin and viola teacher. I am currently Assistant Concertmaster of Houston Ballet Orchestra, a position I have held since 2014. I also frequently perform with Houston Grand Opera and work as a substitute violinist for Houston Symphony and other groups in Houston. I graduated from Rice University in 2013 with a Masters of Music degree in violin performance, and Florida State University in 2011 with a Bachelors of Music degree in violin performance. I have nearly 10 years teaching experience of all levels, ranging from beginning 5 year olds, beginning adults, high school students preparing for college music program auditions, students with autism or other special needs, and everything in between! I work for Houston Youth Symphony for their outreach programs providing lessons and group lessons in the public schools. I also work as a sectional and chamber music coach. I have completed the first two books of Suzuki Violin Book Teacher Training at the Greater Austin Suzuki Institute. I currently have a very flexible schedule, as all of my upcoming performances and group teaching in the schools have been cancelled/ postponed due to the corona virus! I am therefore trying to increase my online teaching. I am happy to work with each individual to meet his or her musical goals, whatever those may be!

I wish I could say many things but one thing I would love to share is that Ms. Rachel is the beat teacher anyone could ask for she really shows she cares, tells you your mistake, and Ms. Rachel helps even when it’s already good she tries to make it great not just good!!

I have been taking lessons from Rachel for almost two years. She usually teaches me in her home but we now do online lessons. Rachel helps me with my middle school orchestra pieces and we also follow the Suzuki series and music theory. She is patient and understands how to help me become a better violin player.

She likes to focus on the positive and is never negative. She’s always supportive and always takes time away to help me no matter what.
