Teaching since:

Pianist Rachel Jackson began formal music training at the age of 6. While in high school, she began teaching privately, and her studio grew to more than 20 students prior to college. Rachel remains passionate in encouraging and inspiring young musicians who share a love for music.

She has performed as soloist in several venues including the Troy Hayner Cultural Center, Wright State University's Arts Gala, and Washington College. Rachel's Sorelle Piano Trio was invited to perform a masterclass with Maestro Keith Lockhart, conductor of the BPO. Another chamber group, Troika, in which she was also pianist received alternate place in the MTNA Chamber Music Competition. The summer she was accepted as a collaborative piano apprentice in the National Music Festival, studying with Professor Michael Gurt.

Her musical mentors include Dr. Jackson Leung and Dr. Kate Boyd. She holds a BM degree in performance from Wright State University. Most recently, she has been accepted into Butler University's graduate program with a collaborative piano assistantship where she plans to continue her studies this fall. Her awards include the Pemberton-Toomey Piano Scholarship, Sophie Kerrigan Memorial Scholarship, Irene Romanowski Piano Scholarship, and Harley Flack Memorial Scholarship.
