    About Rachel G.

My name is Rachel G. I received my BM in voice and music composition at C.S.U. Stanislaus in Turlock, California and two MM's in voice and music theory pedagogy at Johns Hopkins University's Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland. I have been teaching private voice, theory, ear-training, and composition skills since 2009. I have experience teaching all levels from beginner to graduate. I thoroughly enjoy working with students of all levels and ages. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a student succeed in reaching his or her goals. I understand that each person has his or her own learning style, needs, and goals, and I will always do my utmost to accommodate these. I incorporate both technique and musicality in my teaching. While good technique is necessary, I believe that there is no point in performing a piece if there is no emotion behind it. I am experienced in working with students with both physical and mental disabilities, particularly those relating to blindness. I am fluent in literary Braille and Braille music.
