My name is Rachel and I am a recent graduate from the University of Michigan and have my BFA in musical theatre. I am offering voice and acting lessons. They can be strictly acting or strictly voice, or we can do a little bit of everything. I teach many different styles including both classical and contemporary in both acting and singing, from opera to Shakespeare to Wicked and pretty much everything in between. I have been teaching for several years and love working with people on their voices and on acting.
I have taught to mostly middle and high school ages, but am more than willing to teach to other ages as well.

My first instructor and the best instructor I could ask for! Helped me with voice and acting and really getting into character for my musical. Really helped me shape where I wanted to go and now has introduced me into the world of musical theatre and acting! Thank you Rachel!!!

I studied almost daily with Rachel for a couple of months during the rehearsal process of a production of Guys and Dolls. Learning from Rachel was an honor and an experience from which I have retained an extensive amount of information from just a limited amount of time. I wish I had had more time to study with Rachel! Rachel was very progressive with the way she helped me. She taught me new exercises and information about my voice that I did not know existed. I grew immensely as a performer and singer after studying with her. Throughout our time together, Rachel made a point of really getting to know me and become my friend. That made my transition to a new theatre company with a new production staff and cast members very easy and enjoyable. I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with Rachel and the amazing work she did with me!

Rachel E. is one of the most gifted musicians and theater performers I have ever known. Myself being a teacher as well as professional musician, I have seen over a thousand students come through the classes at my schools or though private instruction, and Rachel has been at the very top of the list of best students I have ever seen.

Knowing Rachel for 15 years now, I can say that she sees music and theater not just as a technique to teach, but as part of our humanity. She cares about how music improves the lives of students as a whole and maintains a high level of excellence while guiding students to their own personal goals. I would wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Rachel as an instructor to any who are interested.
