I am a professional artist, teacher, linguist, and lifelong learner. I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Masters degree in Jewish Studies and scholarships in Hebrew language and Pedagogy. I have had fine art displayed in New York and Tel Aviv and have won national and international awards for it including the Simon Weisenthal Center's Cartoonists against the Holocaust Award and had work displayed at the Makor Gallery's Amendicons exhibit. I am a Grumbacher certified acrylics and drawing instructor. I have also helped teach children part time since I graduated high school in 2007. I currently teach adult Hebrew students at Berlitz language center and tutor elementary school students one-on-one with Varsity Tutors.
Drawing and Painting students can expect to improve week to week in their technique. Every student has a unique style. I teach students to use their artistic license to apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual form of expression. I can help any student draw and paint with freedom and confidence while simultaneously teaching technique.
I teach Hebrew students of different ages and experience levels. I studied Biblical and Modern Hebrew for over 12 years, and have taught Hebrew for over five years. I can teach students to read, write, speak, and understand Hebrew on a beginner or intermediate level depending on the goals and preference of the individual student.
I took piano lessons for many years and participated in a choir after that. I love music and would love working with beginner piano students to help them learn technique and basic pieces and perhaps even improvisation.
I am a native speaker of English and would be interested in applying my language learning knowledge to teaching English to those who need it. I would be interested in working to meet the needs and goals of students and teaching them reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
I hope I can be of service. Thanks for your interest!
