    Q holds a Bachelor of Music from Indiana University Fort Wayne in Bass Trombone Performance with a Minor in Upright Bass and has been a performer and teacher for over 20 years. Q has performed on stage, in the pit, on the road, and in the recording studio. His bass, guitar, and vocal performance credits include The Hat Guys, The Greatest Hitmakers, Paris Delane, The Stoneflies, Digable Cat, Ken Allison, and Scott Dubose (formerly 101 Ranch Band), Down Silver, and many others. Q studied electric bass with Bill Harrison; upright bass with Jeremy Baguyos; trombone with Ed King, David Cooke, and Dr. James Rouintree; organ and piano with Roberta Wagner, and voice with Vincent Slater. In addition to guitar and bass, Q has taught piano, ukulele, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, music theory, song writing, arranging, ear training, and music transcription. He has taught private lessons, small ensembles, classes, and clinics. His teaching experience includes private lessons at A Sound Education, Streamwood Park District and Mynett Music Company; brass section coaching at Northrop High School, Anderson Highland High School, and Weisser Park Arts Magnet School; Guitar & Bass Workshop Leader and Jazz Band Director at Sr High Institute of North Indiana Conference of United Methodist Church; and Song Writing, Poetry, and Jam Sessions Clinician at Heritage Jr/Sr High School. Q currently teaches rock and pop bands of elementary and middle school students with Intonation Music Workshop where each child learns piano, guitar, bass, and drum set; guitar classes for elementary middle school students with Little Star Guitar; private lessons in his studio in the Pullman Historic District on Chicago's south side and online through Skype, OnlineJamSessions.com, and eJAMMING AUDiiO. Lessons are tailored to each student with a combination of songs from their wish list and set curriculum. At the end of each lesson the student leaves knowing something knew and ready to rock! Curriculum includes as "Alred Kid's Guitar Course" Ron Manus & L.C. Harnsberger, "Hal Leonard Guitar Method Complete Edition" by Greg Koch & Will Schmid, "Hal Leonard Bass Method Complete Edition" by Ed Friedland, "Learning to Play Piano" by Denes Agay, "Hal Leonard Ukulele Method" by Lil' Rev, "Arban's Famous Method for Trombone", "Arban's Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet", and "Authentic Excerpts From Arban's Complete Method For Eb And Bbb Tuba". *** Studio Equipment *** For all instruments except keyboard/piano the student must provide his/her own instrument. Amplification is provided for guitars and basses. *** Travel Equipment *** For all instruments the student must provide his/her own instrument. If the instrument requires amplification, the student must also provide an amplifier.
