Master for violin performance and education
The prestige Juilliard school graduated violinist with lots of performing and teaching experiences
Don't you want to learn from a Violinist who is not only has a great degree from the prestige Juilliard school, but also has a lot of performing and teaching experience?
I am a violinist graduated from The Juilliard School. While I was in school, in order to pay for my tuition and living expense, I teaches lots of students, and that gives me the chance to come up with my own teaching system that can help all types of students. I believe that the key to make learning violin very efficient, is to make the student enjoy playing violin a lot. But depends on different students and their personality, I will have different ways to approach to help the student likes it.
Not only teaching experience, during my third year of undergraduate at Juilliard, I was very grateful to be selected to participate in the Queen Elisabeth Competition and had the chance to perform for the Queen Mathilde of Belgium.
The biggest bonus of studying with me is that I am a very responsible teacher, if the student has any difficulty question during their practice, they can message me and I will help them either from message or set up a short meeting to help solve their problem immediately so that students don't need to wait until the next lessons to solve their problem.

Hello welcome to my page, don't leave, stay and read before you go! trial lesson are all free!!
I have passion in teaching not only because it can make money but also when student play well or they achieve their personal goals I feel very proud of the student and myself and I enjoy it a lot.
If you are a beginner:
I will help you to set up your right hand and left hand correctly so that even you are just learning for fun, you have the ability to play pieces you want. I think that beginner is also the easiest period to give up because all the exercises to help set up right hand and left hand are very boring, but I will add some easy pieces to help the process less painfully and more enjoyable!!
If you already know how to play violin:
I will ask you to play what ever piece you feel comfortable and evaluate what's your strength and what's your weakness and have a personal plan for you to keep improving to the next level!
Let's meet at the lesson and go to the next level together!!

I had a great experience learning violin with Peter! He's both honest and encouraging. If you come to the lessons with a desire to learn (instead of feeling defensive and getting frustrated when you don't nail things right away), you'll have a great time.
I played bassoon in concert bands and orchestras for seven years as a teenager, but lost track of it when I went to college and started my career. I realized last year I missed having music be a part of my life. I bought a violin (much cheaper than a bassoon!) intending to pick it up but had no clue where to start. Peter's instruction has been invaluable, and it's connected me with music again in a way I haven't been in a long time. I know a lot of the people on here are parents getting lessons for their children, and I'm sure Peter is great instructing kids too. But if you're an adult like me, please know it's never too late to pick up a new skill or hobby you're interested in.
Unfortunately, shortly after starting the lessons my responsibilities at work essentially doubled out of nowhere, and I'm not able to commit to the violin the way I want to right now. I'm keeping my account open because once things slow down again, I definitely want to schedule more lessons with Peter.

Peter has been my violin teacher for more than half year. I am learning faster than I ever thought I could, and he has always had the right wisdom for me at each step of the process to help me move forward. He is honest about where you need to improve but always kind. Highly recommend him if you want to learn violin with him!

Po Yu is a great teacher for my daughter, we started with him from 2018 till now. He helps my daughter to set up her violin technique very complete, and makes her enjoy playing violin a lot. Po Yu suggested us to audition for Juilliard Pre-college next year since she has improved to the level and hope we will be able to pass the entrance audition.
