Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Want to learn the harp "differently"? Come to me! :)
I have been playing harp for 20 years, studied classical music for 10 years and then started exploring other styles like Jazz, Pop, World Music, Mediterranean Music,... by studying, traveling, meeting new people.
I like to approach the harp "differently".
For beginners, we will start, of course, with the basics of the technique, we will develop the ear, start learning some great and fun rhythmical tunes and new styles on the harp :)
For more advanced harpists, we will explore different styles, develop the rhythm on the harp, improvise, learn different jazz standards, try arrangements of known pieces (you can request anything), and even include singing if you wish :)
Here are some highlights of my biography
- Graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston (2017) and Valencia - Spain (2015).
-Created a new Master Class program for harpists (Harp Jazz, Modern Harp), performed in Poland and Colombia.
- The Voice France (2012)
- Graduated from the "Music Academy International of Nancy" (2011)
-Many concerts and festivals throughout Europe and the United States
-Won numerous musical competitions in Europe

Teaching since:
2009

I am a professional harpist/singer, composer and arranger raised in Belgium.
I graduated from the Music Academy International (Nancy) in voice and from Berklee College of Music (Boston) in harp where I performed in many different settings and styles of music (Jazz, Pop, Mediterranean music, Middle Eastern music, Latin music,...). I was also part of "The Voice" France in 2012 where I made it to the top 20. Additionally, I traveled a lot and performed in many different festivals around the world where I also gave master classes about the Harp Jazz & Modern Harp.

I had been classically trained as a harpist for 10 years and have dedicated 10 other years of my life to "evolving" the function of the harp in music. I incorporate the harp in various styles of music outside of the classical tradition. I perform original compositions and covers that feature the harp in different settings and styles of music.

I teach harp students of all different ages and experience levels.
With beginners, we will start, of course, by learning the foundation of the technique as well as developing the ear and the rhythm. We will start learning different styles of music using excellent and very fun exercices and tunes.
With more advanced harpists, we will be able to explore different styles of music more deeply, develop the rhythm on the harp, improvise, learn different jazz standards, try arrangements of known pieces (you can request anything you like), and even include singing if you wish :)

I love to teach the harp "differently" to open more horizons.
I love to teach while having fun! I always listen to the individual needs of my students and try to create the best environment for them. I want them to feel confortable and therefore be ready to learn and share in the best conditions.

My nan is Luisa Maria Alvarez and I'm a composer and music theory teacher in "Académie des Arts de Bruxelles". I would like to highly recommend Miss Pia salvia. Miss Pia Salvia is great harp player with excellent pedagogical and music theory skills.
As a music theory teacher myself, I can say that Miss Salvia is able to connect the theory in many different styles, for exemple classical, jazz or flamenco and more with the art of harp playing. Miss Salvia has deeply studied several types of harps and different traditions and techniques from around the world. I was fortunate to study with Miss Salvia, an experience that affected me deeply, therefor I believe it is extremely important for her to share her experiences and knowledge with many others.

My lessons with Pia are fantastic! She is one of the best teachers I've ever had, she makes every lesson super fun as well as very informative. My favorite part about her method is the way she introduces many different styles and teaches how to play them on the harp. Besides that, she also teaches the basics, technique, reading etc. Super recommended teacher!!!
