EDUCATION HOWARD UNIVERSITY— Washington, DC BA in Music Therapy, with Minors in Bassoon & Piano UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX— Pasadena, CA Master of Business Administration (MBA) I absolutely love teaching! I've been teaching music for over 25 years! I specialize in adaptive piano lessons for special needs children. Coming from a family of educators and musicians of two generations we wanted to do something for the community, so I co-founded Piano Play Music Systems,Inc. (an award winning inclusive private & group music program for children voted” The Best Piano School for Kids in LA”) 400+ student aged 19 months -adults. I further developed an advanced group piano pedagogy series of method books by editing, creating and developing characters, lyrics for songs within the books to enhance more enthusiasm for learning with older children. As a trained music therapist, I also co-founded Keylife Foundation,(a non-profit organization that offers services for special needs children, primarily in the autism spectrum). Developed a keyboard program and curriculum with the Braille Institute of Los Angeles and other special needs children focusing on mainstreaming them into regular classes. Music is such a gift to give to others and its an art that is non-judgemental. Its all about you. That's what I want to bring the student--to love and enjoy. If its a recital you want, you can have that too! I am a current member Music Teachers Assn. of California which can give my students a platform to perform and participate in competitions in the future as well. *** Lesson Details *** I believe lessons should have balance. I am going to give my very best to you in our time together, so let's rock it. I want you to get it and hopefully love it. We know you have a life, but put some time into your exercises and music and you will see progress. I work well with children, but love adults too! If you want fundamentals, you've got the right lady. I teach classical repertoire and technique as well as pop, rock, standards. If you want more theory or ear training, I can do that too! Just Do it ! *** Travel Equipment *** If we are able do additional computer theory, I will bring a laptop.
