Exciting, entertaining and energetic, Philip’s ability speaks for itself. He was formally trained at the tender age of 13 on the trombone at La Salle College High School. With the performance ability sharpened by his diverse professional experiences, Philip D. is a renaissance man in his own right. He has worked with such notable artists and groups such as; Peter Nero & The Philly Pops, Slide Hampton, Robin Eubanks, Freda Payne, Martha Reeves of the Vandellas, The Intruders, The Blue Notes, The Delfonics, The Stylistics, The Contours, as well as The Temptations. Philip enjoys working with others, he wants his students to discover their musical ability and get in touch with their creative talents. His musical influences, aside from the groups he has worked with include Michael McDonald, Earth Wind and Fire, Journey, Queen, Take 6, Stevie Wonder, Joshua Redman, John Coltrane, and the list goes on. By taking lessons with Philip you will have a diverse variety of styles and methods to improve your craft.

Mr. Phil is an excellent instructor! He is both patient as well as creative with our 4 year old who has a short attention span. We would recommend Mr. Phil to anyone, our son has really learned a lot under Mr. Phil's direction.
Philip D. is a great teacher and explains the most detailed aspects of music that you need to know to play your instrument successfully. He has you step outside of your comfort zone while maintaining patience.
Philip is extremely knowledgable about singing and is the best instructer I have worked with. I could tell he was very passionate about music and was very interested in my learning how to become an artist. I am extremely happy with him.

I appreciate him introducing me to new things to help me with what I am coming to the lessons for. IE: facial expressions to help with sounds, and also being aware of my mouth which can also affect sound. I will be practicing. Thank you
Great teacher! Can teach at any level. Takes the lessons seriously and still has fun. My son looks forward to every lesson. Thanks Phil!
