In addition to earning degrees in music from San Francisco State University (B.M.) and The University of North Texas (M.M.) I have completed the teacher education program at Old Dominion University. I continue to engage in a diverse career as a professional tubist. This experience consists of extensive freelance work such as orchestral playing, chamber music occasions and commercial entertainment. More permanent positions include my service in The United States Continental Army Band, Ft. Monroe, VA, and the 380th Army Reserve Band, Richmond, VA and as a musician at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, VA during the 2011, 2012 and 2014 seasons. In addition to time spent in fine ensembles such as the Virginia Wind Symphony, University of North Texas Wind Symphony and the University of North Texas Symphony Orchestra, I have had the great fortune of time spent as a marching member of the World Champion Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. While pursuing a master’s degree in tuba performance I was active as a private lesson teacher at the middle and high school levels. I continue to teach students privately. Experience in teaching adults includes work as a private ear-training and sight-singing tutor at the collegiate level. *** Studio Equipment *** Meinl Weston 2145 CC tuba Cerveny "Piggy" Model CC tuba B&S "Sinfonie" Model F tuba Selmer Tenor Trombone Dr. Beat Metronome Professional Recordings Hi Fi Stereo Music Stands *** Travel Equipment *** Meinl Weston 2145 CC tuba Cerveny "Piggy" Model CC tuba B&S "Sinfonie" Model F tuba Selmer Tenor Trombone Dr. Beat Metronome Professional Recordings *** Specialties *** I have had experience performing and teaching music of various styles including Orchestra/Concert band, Classical/Solo, Jazz and Pop.
