I have been composing and producing music for 20+ years. Since I got my first guitar at 13, I've been playing in bands, writing, recording & mixing songs. Touring with bands throughout the U.S. And personally learning from my network of industry veterans who have worked with bands such as: The Rolling Stones, DMX, Wu Tang Clan, ZO2, Type O Negative, Frank Stallone, Twisted Sister, The Ramones, Nirvana, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Jeff Buckley, Guns 'n' Roses, Alice In Chains, Nine Inch Nails, and more. I have taught my brother, best friend, and many others to play guitar from zero experience, to playing their favorite songs in an average of 2 weeks with at least 1 hour per day of practice time. I'm a self taught guitar player, and a general autodidact - so my teaching approach is individually custom tailored to each student. From day one, we start playing real music, so come prepared with your favorite songs. This is not my main source of income, so I won't keep you on the hook for years like many other teachers. Instead I help you establish a solid foundation, and set you on the right path. After just a few lessons you'll have the confidence and the tools to: - know how to develop your own sound - be able to play in time, and in key with other musicians - have a clear path to growth and progress for years to come - check your progress and thinking against a baseline consisting of your favorite artists In summary, I teach you to teach yourself - I don't like wasting time - whether my own, or other peoples'. I don't think it's fair to charge years of recurring tuition fees for concepts that can be communicated clearly and effectively from day one, and reinforced over the following 2 weeks. I also don't think it's fair to squelch a beginners passion and enthusiasm by pitting them up against things like learning to read music, theory, endless details of "correct" posture and technique, never-ending drills of monotonous exercises - etc... BORING! No wonder so many give up before they've had a chance to start, I can show you how to learn theory the easy way! To pay attention to details of technique when you reach the level where it starts to matter. A shortcut to reading music - you won't even know you're learning to read! I can show you the awesome way to learn to play! For advanced players: One lesson is all you need - I'll work with you to quickly identify your strengths and weaknesses, suggest areas of exploration to enhance playing, and help you to solidify and polish your sound.
