Taking guitar with me will prepare you for many of the obstacles that come along with learning guitar for the first time.  Whether you've taken lessons before or not it helps to have an experienced and professional player to show you the ropes.  I have been playing music my entire life and have been a guitarist for 21 years and teaching for 4 years now and I love it!  I am a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter but my main instrument is guitar.  Lessons will be tailored to fit your personal goals/skill level. Students will learn theory, technique, and general knowledge about the guitar and it's role in almost any genre. Students will learn not only what to play, but how to play it and will learn the application of the instrument in a solo/band/ensemble setting. We'll focus on building your knowledge of theory and ear-training to make you the most competent of players.  Not only will you learn the building blocks of music but we'll learn to create and compose your own songs, which is super fun. Music is all about connecting with people and having fun, it's called "playing" for a reason. I am a multi-instrumentalist, teacher, songwriter, performer, arranger, and recording artist based in Johnson City Tennessee. Music has always been a part of my life, I have been playing guitar for 21 years as well as studying other instruments. I've been in 2 university programs for guitar performance at MTSU and ETSU. Currently I play for three different bands (Amythyst Kiah and her chest of glass, Iliad, and Us If).  I have been teaching for 5 years now and have a space in Johnson City that serves as a studio for lessons. I also enjoy gardening and bicycling when I have the time.
