Patrick O. is currently finishing his B.M. at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music with an emphasis in Music Performance. Patrick specializes in teaching beginning and intermediate guitar and drums for all levels. He is also comfortable teaching beginning piano and voice. He has performed in many different musical settings, from band and orchestra to choirs, jazz and rock bands. Patrick is comfortable teaching all levels and ages and brings his wealth of experience in wide variety of genres to give the student the education they seek and deserve. Feel free to contact me and discuss your goals and needs! *** Lesson Details *** First and foremost, I think lessons should always be fun and interesting. I also believe that it's very important to have a good understanding of the fundamentals on any instrument you're learning. I like to spend the first half of a lesson warming up, playing exercises, and working on technique. The second half consists of playing grooves, riffs, and to music. Once the student is able to play comfortably, I like to play along with the student on drums or guitar to build their playing and listening skills. I care very much about what each and every student wants to get from their lessons, and will do my best to give them a great foundation. *** Specialties *** I can teach classical, jazz, and most genres of rock for drumset. I use a combination of books, and listening/transcribing from music. I can teach pop/rock rhythm and lead guitar and singing.
