Patrick M. is available for online lessons worldwide! Patrick has been playing violin and mandolin for over 25 years and has taught music since 2008. The International Bluegrass Music Association named Patrick "Fiddle Player of the Year" for 2017, one of the music industry’s highest honors. He teaches all experience levels from beginner to intermediate and advanced, performs all over the world, and records for major record labels. Although trained in standard teaching methods, Patrick developed his own method of teaching to positively enhance the student’s strength, dexterity, ear-training, memorization and techniques. His goal as a teacher is specifically designed to help you achieve your goals as an artist and a musician. Patrick also hosts student showcases/charity benefits like “Christmas from Ireland in Maryland,” where his students are able to get on stage and show off their new talent. Patrick is an expert transcriber for fiddle and mandolin and masters 5 line staff and tablature, hand-crafted exercises, and deconstructions to better enhance the students learning. Artists and genres that Patrick has experience with range from Dailey & Vincent, Ricky Skaggs, Del McCoury, Audie Blaylock, John McCutheon, Joe Martin, Gerald Cleaver, Ellery Eskelin, Kenny Baker, Bill Monroe. Patrick attended Towson University, Baltimore where his degree is in Jazz and Classical performance. He is constantly continuing his education with music theory courses, and performance experience with the best musicians in the world. There are no limits! Patrick’s students advance quickly and some have released albums, and won awards for their music. Lessons are scheduled to best fit to the student’s schedule when possible. Students receive complimentary audio lessons and transcriptions of songs upon their first or second session. Patrick is a very patient instructor and understands that students learn at a different pace, after all everyone is an individual!

My son had his very first Violin lesson with Patrick and was super excited. Patrick conveyed the information for the lesson very well and my son is even more excited about his future lessons.

Patrick is a great fiddle teacher. He is a world-class musician, but he is able to meet me at my level - a rusty classical violinist. He is very encouraging and positive. He's quite knowledgeable about a very broad range of fiddle music. I highly recommend him.
