What makes lessons with me unique is that my background is even more varied than I had realized until I had to sit down and describe it. With more than 25 years as an independent consultant and 33 years as a Certified Financial Planner(R), my work has taken me in many directions. I have a background as an internal consultant with several large firms, including American Express, MetLife, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and Hoffmann LaRoche Pharmaceuticals. I worked directly with upper management on projects to enhance productivity, resource allocation, systems improvements, and improvements to increase profitability. I prepared recommendations and reports to management and worked on the implementation of changes. I have also worked as a consultant for smaller local businesses in operations, staffing, marketing and other issues to enhance and grow their businesses. I have also had an active Income Tax Practice for more than 25 years. I also taught the Certified Financial Planner Program and other Finance subjects as an adjunct in evening classes at a regional University for 8 years, as well as teaching Quickbooks for bookkeepers for a Computer Education Company. Lastly, I have published over 50 articles on Business and Finance subjects for national publications such as the Journal of Accountancy and Physician's Money Digest, and for other local publications, and have assisted in report preparation and creative writing in a number of disciplines.
