About Palmer S.

Palmer is a guitar teacher that has been in Richmond, Virginia for three years. He moved here from Northern Virginia. He has been playing for twelve years and has been teaching for three years. He specializes in Rock, Hard-Rock, Metal, Folk and Blues. He has experience teaching students of all ages and guarantees that his students will maintain a thorough knowledge of music theory and correct guitar technique while having a blast with what they're learning.

Palmer has played with several local bands in Northern Virginia and is currently working on a project in Richmond. In addition to being a teacher Palmer writes music reviews and has had interviews with many bands in the Richmond/Northern Virginia area. Palmer's love for music and his passion for guitar can definitely be seen in both his approach to teaching and his everyday life.

*** Lesson Details ***
Palmer's lessons feature a structured lesson plan with a laid back approach. Initially Palmer uses two books to teach the foundations of guitar. He then begins to introduce common chords and scales and eventually moves away from the book framework and focuses entirely on a lesson plan that's customized towards his students interests. This custom lesson plan features songs that the student wants to learn to play as well as personalized exercises that will help them reach their desired goals in optimized time. My lesson structure, coupled with everyday practice will ensure that within three-to-six months his beginning students will grasp all the essential fundamentals of guitar and posses the ability to apply their knowledge in a way that lets them create as well as learn.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Separate studio room with two amps, guitars, and seating. Parents will be able to enjoy seating in the living room while waiting for students to finish their lessons.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect Students to provide the following materials: The books or books assigned to them, their guitars/amps, a capo, a pick, a pen/pencil, a blank tablature book and a chromatic tuner.

I will provide my own guitar (acoustic or electric) personal custom lesson plans, print outs of song tablature, and any other materials needed to teach the student.

*** Specialties ***
Metal, Hard Rock, Rock, Blues, Folk
