    Learn classical singing with a trained professional

    Hello! I am Oliver Poveda Zavala. I am a classically trained singer with over 10 years of musical training. I am originally from Quito, Ecuador, in South America, and I am fluent in both English and Spanish, so feel free to communicate in either language you are most comfortable with. I have a BM and an MM majoring in voice performance from the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver. I am knowledgeable in voice pedagogy, choral singing, and of course opera, which is what I mostly practice! My goal here is to share what I have learned over the years about this beautiful art form, and help prepare others in reaching their personal or professional goals. If you plan on singing at a wedding or a want to show off to your friends at a karaoke hangout, or even prepare for an audition for a music program, and any other serious business, it would be my pleasure to help you get where you want to be.     Oliver is a great teacher with a lot of patience and understanding for where you are in your journey. I am a beginner and I was very nervous about how I might sound, however, Oliver assured me that there was no ‘right or wrong’ ;singing is a very personal thing, and that no one can replicate your voice (you are unique in your own right). I had just one session with him through zoom and cannot wait for my future sessions with him. Thanks, Oliver! -Desiree C

    Central City Opera produces hundreds of musical events throughout the year from their MainStage Summer festival productions to their outreach and community engagement programs. As a performer for CCO, my job involves putting on a show as a singer in any of these scenarios, whether it be as a singing in the chorus or as a principal for one of their opera productions or perform a concert with songs about animals at the Denver children’s hospital.
