My name is Oliver, and I am a professional musician from Southern California. I have played the drums since age 4. I have also played guitar for over 10 years, and am comfortable teaching both instruments. I also like to write and record music, and like to work with others and collaborate on musical projects as well as teaching others how to do the same. While it may be cliché to say that music is my life, in this case it is true! I love everything to do with music and am constantly involved with it every day. I recently graduated from UCLA with a degree in Ethnomusicology/Jazz Studies with an emphasis on Drum Performance, having studied with Clayton Cameron and Jason Harnell. I am currently living as a musician based in Los Angeles.
I love teaching, and have been doing it since 2008. I have a rehearsal studio with a full drum kit and other musical equipment that I will be available to teach from, but I am also willing to come to you to work with your own equipment!
Please feel free to view/listen to my videos, and contact me with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!
I play drums in the LA-based rock band The End of Summer. Feel free to check us out on Facebook, and look us up to catch us at a show!
I attended and worked for JCOI at UCLA in the summer of 2013. I got to learn a ton about jazz composing and performing for free in exchange for intern work (office work, classroom prep/tech, lunch prep, etc.)
I was the TA for a Digital Music Production class at the Tokyo School of Music for a summer program put on by UCI.
