Hi! My name is Norma. I was born in Bogota, Colombia. I fell in love with music when I was a little girl, so I began taking music lessons when I was 8 years old. First, I took violin lessons, and after four years decided to switch to the piano.
I also loved to sing. So I took piano lessons and singing lessons at the same time, and after a while I dedicated myself completely to singing. After that I graduated from my music school with a degree in vocal technique.
I have sung in several venues in Colombia and in the US. as a solo artist and as a band member as well.
I also worked at the School of Rock in Coral Springs, Florida for four years, which gave me much more experience with rock music and teaching kids of all ages.
I really hope I can help you reach your goals, and to love music the same way I do.
Director of the music program for little kids (ages 3-5) at the School of Rock in Coral Springs.
I was the vocal instructor for all their programs, working with kids of all ages and with adults as well. I was in charge of teaching them the right technique to help them get ready for the season shows where they would sing and play music with other students.
Member of Legato - It is a choir that sings all sorts of Colombian and Latin American traditional songs, religious music, and Christmas carols. Legato is well known for its Christmas carols repertoire. We recorded an album with the most popular carols in 2001. In 2002, Legato sang in “Carmen” by Georges Bizet, with the Opera Studio Foundation in Bogota.
