Hi there! Want to use your voice effectively, painlessly, and confidently? My name is Nora, I'm a mezzo-soprano, and I have been a professional singer for the last 10 years, and a teacher of voice for the past 6. I hold my bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan (go blue!) and my master's degree in Vocal Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee (go sox!).
As a vocalist and teacher, my philosophy is largely the same: artistry is a natural and fundamental part of the human experience, and thus it can be easy. My teaching revolves around three goals: creating space to feel easy in our bodies, finding love and reverence for your own, natural sound, and having FUN! I can help you unlock your easiest, fullest, and most satisfying sound. I can also help in cultivating confidence in your own voice!
Teaching all ages and experience levels is something I take nothing but absolute joy in:
Are you looking for fun, interactive, and developmentally appropriate voice lessons for your child? I have been working with children for 4 years and am even in charge of vocal development of choristers for the Trinity Church in the City of Boston!
Are you, perhaps, a lifelong enjoyer of singing and working up the courage to give it a go yourself? I provide a safe, uplifting atmosphere to help make singing a joyous, non-terrifying aspect of life.
Are you a seasoned, professional singer of a certain genre looking to branch out? I was like that, myself- I am a trained opera singer that wanted to study belting techniques and even coached with Natalie Weiss to do so.
Not interested in singing, but want to develop your speaking? In these coachings, we'll find "ease of vocal production". We'll borrow from the Alexander Technique, yoga and meditation to making any form of speaking much easier, and, as a result, much more full and resonant. Whether you want to make your public speaking more effective, you want to enhance your acting chops or you just want to feel comfortable talking, we'll work on making speaking easy, painless, and natural.
I look forward to working with you. Let's have some fun!
