Noga Shefi is an accomplished musician, bass and guitar player based in Brooklyn, NY. Originally from Israel, Noga first came to the US to study bass guitar at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Graduating with honors in 2012, she came to New York and promptly got the work playing studio sessions and live shows. Known for her deep rhythmic groove and exquisite tonality, Noga is an in-demand bassist having recorded with toured with Delicate Steve, Zula, The Due Diligence and many many others.
As of 2016 she is also a certified yoga teacher, bringing her command of human energy to the healing arts.
Noga has 15 years of experience both in performing and teaching music. Some of her experience as a teacher came from teaching privately and in music schools while she also worked with nonprofit organizations such as 'Tav Mashve' in Israel and 'Genuine Voices' - giving at risk youth genuine voices through music in Boston, MA.
The wide range of students and artists she has worked with worldwide, gave her the unique perspective and approach to music, the openness to experiment and achieve new musical heights and the courage to cross barriers both in her own playing and with her students.
Noga is a kind, patient, sensitive teacher with a deep understanding of musical theory and technique and a warm, encouraging and professional sensibility. Not just a great teacher but also a punctual, communicative scheduler. She's just wonderful to deal wit. 10 out of 10 would recommend!+ Read More
Noga is a great teacher!!! Always prepared and really knowledgeable. Totally recommended!
Noga is all-around the best musical instructor I have ever had. What makes her lessons special is her passion for teaching and for music. She motivated me to challenge myself on the bass both through her creative exercises and supportive charisma. On top of that, Noga is a true master of the bass guitar. She has an immediately recognizable groove that you can hear whenever she plays, and her skill is incredibly wide-ranging. Our lessons have touched on driving rock, jazz walking bass, and ambient soundscapes to name a few, and she is very open to delve into new musical territory together if you have any questions on how to achieve a certain sound. Every lesson with her will have a great impact on your playing.+ Read More
great teacher. great person. incredible player. it's been a pleasure working with Noga and, of the hundreds of people giving lessons in the city, I feel so lucky to have found her. She really cares and she's patient. All combined, it makes it enjoyable to push and challenge myself. I'm not afraid or embarrassed to make mistakes with her and, as a shy person, this has meant so much to me.+ Read More
