Dear Students, I’m a born and bred Israeli who graduated from Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Ben Gurion’s dream university in the middle of the southern desert. I served in the IDF, trained to use an UZI. Although I managed offices and was a top salesperson for Jet Lag Jeans, I always gravitated back to teaching Hebrew. Working with five-year-olds, i developed interactive dance and word games. Teaching ten-year-olds, I drew pictures of Hebrew words, creating stories where students practiced new vocabulary. For young adults, taught vocabulary, then designed groups and pairings to use the new vocabulary in conversation. In tutoring, I work from a student’s strengths to build confidence and introduce new challenging material in steps, simplifying as we go. Mastering new concepts with my students is my specialty. I hold a double major in Behavioral Science and Human Resources. I won scholarships for academic excellence three years in a row at the university. I have a teaching certificate for Jazz/Modern instruction. The IDF sent me to learn computer programs and I received an Excel, Windows Certificate. From the Omega Institute in Tel Aviv, Israel, I am a certified psycho therapist who is qualified to counsel people. Seeing a student change in front of my eyes is beautiful. Helping students master a language created with the birth of Israel gives me satisfaction. Guiding learning with my students until they believe in themselves rewards me as well as them.
